Job Description
Working as a member of the Research & Development team and in close collaboration with Software and Hardware Engineering teams, you will apply your radio knowledge and reverse engineering skills to design, develop, and implement software-defined radio systems to classify or demodulate new communication protocols, effective transmission techniques to defeat sUAS platforms, discover and exploit sUAS vulnerabilities, etc.

Location
Remote with occasional onsite in San Luis Obispo, CA
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software-defined radio applications and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SDR technology into existing platforms.
- Analyze system performance and optimize software and hardware configurations for efficiency and reliability.
- Implement signal processing algorithms and contribute to the development of communication protocols.
- Conduct research to stay current with advancements in SDR technologies and methodologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SDR hardware and software.
- Document design specifications, test plans, and system configurations.
- Analyze and reverse engineer existing radio products, software, or systems to identify key components and functionality.
Skills
- Familiarity with SDR platforms (e.g., GNU Radio, USRP, Ettus Research)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- Thorough understanding of signals, modulation schemes, data encoding, and communication protocols
- Experience in identifying and assessing vulnerabilities in systems
- Experience programming and analyzing FPGAs (VHDL/Verilog)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
