Secured Lending Center of Excellence Leader – Repossession & Remarketing
Location: Wilmington, DE
Job Profile Summary:
The Auto Secured Center of Excellence (CoE) Leader is a highly strategic role responsible for shaping the future of our auto-secured portfolio by driving a unified, end-to-end strategy across collateral and default management, Repossession, Remarketing, Recoveries, and Insurance. This leader will define and execute a multi-year roadmap that modernizes operations, strengthens governance, advances analytics and automation, and optimizes asset outcomes. With accountability for operational results, compliance posture, team member experience, and enterprise performance, this role plays a pivotal part in reducing risk, improving efficiency, maximizing asset value, and delivering best-in-class customer and business outcomes while building and inspiring a high-performing team poised to drive the next generation of our auto-secured strategy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead the development of a comprehensive, multi‑year strategy for the Auto Secured CoE that prioritizes strong collateral and default lifecycle management, integrating Repossession, Remarketing, Recoveries, and Insurance into a unified plan aligned with enterprise risk and performance goals.
· Lead cross‑functional efforts to define and embed a collateral hierarchy framework, ensuring that valuation, routing, and disposition decisions are unified across business lines and supported by clear standards and governance.
· Own day‑to‑day performance of auto‑focused teams; establish SLAs and KPIs for asset location, assignment, transport, sale readiness, sale conversion, deficiency generation, payment performance and claim cycle times.
· Lead an aggressive continuous‑improvement agenda—simplify workflows, remove failure demand, automate handoffs, and standardize playbooks across sites and vendors.
· Design, launch, and scale pilots that modernize the auto‑secured operating model (e.g., digital borrower outreach, dynamic vendor routing, AI‑assisted pricing, analytics‑driven repair/no‑repair decisions).
· Build and govern a high‑performing vendor network (repossession agents, transportation, storage, auctions, skip/locate, insurance administrators); negotiate performance‑based contracts and enforce scorecards.
· Drive enterprise alignment around remarketing strategy, partnering with Analytics, Risk, Ops, and vendors to shape a cohesive remarketing roadmap that improves cycle times, net proceeds, and customer outcomes.
· Oversee and monitor force‑placed insurance processes, ensuring coverage is applied correctly, exceptions are resolved quickly, and all activities adhere to regulatory standards and internal quality controls.
· Partner with Data & Analytics to develop accurate, timely dashboards and diagnostic tools; create an executive review cadence that provides visibility to trends, risks and opportunities.
· Ensure strong risk management and compliance posture across all auto activities; maintain policies and controls that adhere to federal and state requirements and internal standards.
· Collaborate with Technology/Product to prioritize roadmaps enabling case management, integration with market platforms (auctions/insurers), straight‑through processing and team member tooling.
· Recruit, develop and inspire a diverse leadership bench; promote a culture of accountability, transparency, safety, and customer empathy.
· Strengthen team performance through ongoing coaching, development, and thought leadership.
· Prepare executive‑ready materials for senior leadership reviews and the Board; communicate performance, financial impact, and recommendations with clarity and precision.
Qualifications Guidelines:
· 12+ years of progressive leadership in auto finance/auto‑secured servicing spanning repossession, remarketing, recoveries and/or insurance; CoE or multi‑site leadership/vendor management leadership strongly preferred.
· Proven success driving operational transformations with measurable P&L impact (cycle‑time reduction, cost per unit (efficiencies?) improvements, yield lift, cure rates, or loss severity).
· BA/BS required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
· Demonstrated expertise with auction operations instead of ecosystems, pricing/valuation, title and paperwork flows, transport logistics, and insurance claims administration.
· Strong command of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to auto‑secured servicing.
Competencies/Skills:
· Enterprise mindset; exceptional stakeholder management and influence across Operations, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Finance and Technology.
· Data‑driven problem solving; proficiency with KPI design, root‑cause analysis, and dashboarding tools (e.g., Excel/BI).
· Operational excellence toolset (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) to systematize continuous improvement.
· People leadership—builds high‑performing teams; attracts talent; coaches leaders; drives accountability and engagement.
· Superior communication—concise, executive‑ready writing and presenting; able to translate complex analysis into action.
· Strategic and critical thinking skills with the ability to align recommendations to organizational goals
