We are seeking an AR/VR UX Researcher on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in Redmond, WA. Some travel in the Greater Seattle is expected.

We are seeking an AR/VR UX Researcher on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in Redmond, WA. Some travel in the Greater Seattle is expected.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct UX research to support the development of AI wearable experiences, with a focus on speech communication and human-AI interaction
- Plan and execute quantitative research using lab-based experiments, statistical analysis, surveys, and experimental design
- Conduct qualitative research, including interviews, diary studies, and usability evaluations as needed
- Evaluate and improve AI wearable audio and communication experiences based on user research findings
- Analyze and synthesize research data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Present research findings to cross-functional stakeholders to influence product direction
- Collaborate with product, engineering, design, and research teams to shape future AI wearable experiences
- Develop research plans and contribute to study design with other UX researchers
- Independently manage research activities, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and knowledge sharing
- Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology, Linguistics, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Neuroscience and 1+ years of industry experience
- 2+ years of experience conducting applied UX research for consumer products
- 2+ years of experience conducting qualitative research, including interviews, diary studies, or usability testing
- 1+ years of experience working on cross-functional product teams
- Strong foundation in mixed-methods research, including quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Strong experience with experimental design, inferential statistics, descriptive statistics, and survey research
- Proficiency with statistical programming and data visualization using R and/or Python
- Experience conducting lab-based perceptual or behavioral studies in speech communication, human-AI interaction, linguistics, speech sciences, or voice-based AI
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to translate research findings into actionable product recommendations
- PhD in Cognitive Psychology, Linguistics, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Neuroscience, or a related field
- Experience conducting research involving wearable technologies, such as AI glasses, headphones, or smartwatches
- Experience in speech communication research, speech production, speech input for voice AI systems, or human-AI interaction
- Advanced expertise in statistical analysis and data visualization
- Experience synthesizing qualitative insights to inform product strategy
- Strong understanding of speech, AI, and emerging technologies with the ability to work independently in the domain
