The Mom Project is excited to partner with an growing estate planning and elder law firm. Our client is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Paralegal In Training who is eager to learn and build a long-term career in the legal field. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping individuals and families, enjoys learning new skills, and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This position is 100% onsite in Newport News, VA.
In this role, you will receive hands-on training while learning the fundamentals of estate planning, probate, trust administration, and elder law. Working alongside experienced legal professionals, you will assist with preparing and reviewing estate planning documents, organizing client files, managing workflows, and ensuring documents are completed accurately and on time. Prior law firm experience is not required.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will receive hands-on training while learning the fundamentals of estate planning, probate, trust administration, and elder law. Working alongside experienced legal professionals, you will assist with preparing and reviewing estate planning documents, organizing client files, managing workflows, and ensuring documents are completed accurately and on time. Prior law firm experience is not required.
What You'll Do
- Learn to prepare, review, and organize estate planning documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Learn to assist with probate and trust administration matters under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Learn to support client meetings and help provide exceptional client service throughout the estate planning process.
- Learn to prepare legal documents, court filings, inventories, accountings, notices, and other case-related materials.
- Organize client files and manage case workflows to ensure deadlines are met.
- Serve as a professional and compassionate point of contact for clients.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and team members to ensure a smooth client experience.
- Continuously develop your legal knowledge and skills through hands-on training and mentorship.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

- Work Schedule: Monday thru Thursday, 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-2pm
