We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote/week) in Midtown Manhattan.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Scrum Master to lead the agile teams focused on developing innovative technology solutions with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning initiatives. This role is crucial for ensuring effective project delivery, optimizing team performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in a fast-paced, complex environment. The Senior Scrum Master will guide cross-functional teams through the Scrum framework, manage product timelines, and facilitate effective communication among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the organization’s strategic agenda by ensuring the project portfolio is identified, prioritized, and successfully delivered
  • Translate high-level business requirements and use cases into detailed functional specifications and project plans for highly complex, multi-year initiatives
  • Develop and execute long-term goals and objectives to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale programs
  • Recommend solutions based on business value, risk, and strategic alignment
  • Oversee program and project execution through detailed project plans, governance forums, and regular status reviews
  • Conduct program evaluations in alignment with established program evaluation frameworks
  • Develop and manage project budgets while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project status, schedules, costs, risks, and outcomes
  • Review audit results during and post-implementation and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on high-impact, complex initiatives and ad hoc problem-solving efforts
  • Establish and improve project management standards, methodologies, and best practices
  • Lead project management governance and serve as a center of excellence for program and change delivery
  • Lead and direct cross-functional teams, assigning priorities and ensuring adherence to standards and procedures
  • Ensure onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring of project management staff
  • Lead Agile delivery as a Scrum Master for finance technology and AI initiatives
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to define scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Track milestones, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans while escalating issues proactively
  • Coach teams on Agile principles to foster accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Remove impediments and protect teams from external distractions to maintain sprint focus
  • Support backlog refinement and prioritization in partnership with Product Owners
  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to senior leadership
  • Track team performance metrics and leverage AI tools to support requirements definition and refinement

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5-9 years of experience in a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager role within technology teams
  • Proven experience leading Agile delivery in software development or technology-focused environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience managing IT delivery in medium-to-large, complex environments
  • Proficiency with project management and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and team influence skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex problems
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the Banking or Finance sector
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS
  • Conceptual exposure to big data tools and AI frameworks
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries and database structures
  • Experience with financial technology and AI-driven applications
  • Agile certifications such as CSM or PSM
  • PMP certification
