We are seeking a Procurement Specialist on a contract basis to support complex and high-priority sourcing initiatives across marketing categories, with particular emphasis on media. This role is intended for a seasoned sourcing professional who can operate independently, manage ambiguity, and partner effectively with senior Marketing stakeholders while remaining hands-on. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Mountain View, CA.

As a contingent Principal, you will focus on delivering high-quality sourcing outcomes — developing category strategies, leading negotiations, and managing key supplier relationships — without people-management responsibilities. The role requires strong media sourcing experience, sound judgment, and the ability to influence through expertise, data, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing and category management for key marketing spend areas, including media, creative, social, influencer marketing, and public relations
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives and value optimization
  • Manage end-to-end competitive bidding processes, including RFPs and RFQs
  • Lead complex, high-value negotiations with global marketing suppliers to secure favorable commercial terms and mitigate risk
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs) in partnership with legal, finance, and data security teams
  • Establish and manage supplier relationship management (SRM) frameworks to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular supplier business reviews to ensure alignment on quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Optimize procurement processes and governance to improve efficiency, compliance, and cycle times
  • Drive initiatives in spend optimization, risk mitigation, and sustainable sourcing practices
  • Serve as a strategic procurement partner and advisor to senior marketing leadership
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable sourcing strategies aligned to organizational goals
  • Apply data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to conduct spend analysis, scenario modeling, and sourcing evaluations
  • Build fact-based business cases identifying savings opportunities and value creation
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives from concept through execution, managing timelines and stakeholder expectations

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience sourcing marketing services with strong expertise in media procurement
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-critical initiatives with executive visibility
  • Strong expertise in spend analytics, cost modeling, and should-cost analysis
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations
  • Hands-on experience with e-procurement and source-to-pay platforms such as Coupa
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle
  • Practical experience leveraging AI and digital tools to improve sourcing effectiveness
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills with proven success in complex deals
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple cross-functional initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong stakeholder influence capabilities
