We are looking for a motivated, organized, and driven Pharmacist to join our team at PursueCareRx Pharmacy in Huntington, WV. Key attributes for success in this role include strong communication skills and the capacity to work with patients, physicians, pharmacists, and patient coordinators with genuine care and empathy.
Position Description:
PursueCareRx seeks a dedicated pharmacist to work full time in Huntington, WV. In this role, you will provide exceptional quality of care and outstanding customer service while working in daily pharmacy activities including but not limited to dispensing, overseeing compounding, home infusion services, regulatory practices, patient safety, quality assurance and workflow activities. This role also includes assisting PurseCare to implement patient care initiatives. The ideal candidate will hold a Pharmacist license in West Virginia with future willingness to gain pharmacist licenses in other states PursueCareRx pharmacy services.
Essential Functions:
Pharmacist responsibilities and tasks may include and are not limited to:
Staff/personnel management – overseeing pharmacy technician responsibilities and aiding in compounding, specialty and home infusion processes whenever necessary

In partnership with our parent company, PursueCare, we strive to deliver quality and respectful patient care with a focus on MAT medications for treating Substance Use Disorder (SUD). PursueCareRx offers addiction medication services, compounding, specialty and home-infusion services to our local area as well as by mail-order to 20+ states
PursueCare brings telehealth addiction treatment for opioids, alcohol, and other substance use disorders to patients through a smart phone application. PursueCare offers a low-barrier transitional digital addiction treatment program particularly beneficial for those experiencing significant barriers to in-person care. PursueCareRx pharmacy is an integral part the recovery journey, helping each patient receive necessary medication without stigmatization. PursueCareRx is Joint Commission and LegitScript accredited and maintains the highest standards for clinical excellence, while continually innovating how care is provided to vulnerable populations.

Essential Functions:
Pharmacist responsibilities and tasks may include and are not limited to:
Staff/personnel management – overseeing pharmacy technician responsibilities and aiding in compounding, specialty and home infusion processes whenever necessary
- Maintaining exceptional customer service through telephonic communications with patients, physicians and other healthcare staff
- Assuring patient safety and counseling requirements are met whenever necessary for standard or complex drug regimens
- Maintaining accurate inventory of medications
- Assisting patients with medication-related problems and aiding patients in understanding how to properly use their medications
- Maintaining all regulatory requirements as put forth by the FDA and state-specific for compounding, specialty, home infusion and general pharmacy services
Requirements:
- Currently licensed and in good standing with the West Virginia State Board of Pharmacy or willingness to attain WV license if relocating and possess another state pharmacist license.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy degree issued by an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Experience in working in a retail, mail-order or other pharmacy setting supporting clinical assistance to patients
- Knowledge of IV home infusion, specialty medications and compounding welcomed
- Self-directed and motivated, ability to multitask and manage multiple activities
- Ability to adapt to new technology and new pharmacy software and/or systems as necessary
- Good critical thinking and creative problem solving
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to coordinate and assist patient care in a professional and friendly manner
- Ability to learn and adapt to new and exciting business opportunities and work with management in expanding pharmacy services and profitability as necessary
