As a Senior Manager of Pricing, you will lead tactical and strategic monetization initiatives at Placer. You will leverage qualitative and quantitative analysis to create and operationalize pricing recommendations that will drive increases in ASP, conversion rates, and retention rates. You will run projects end-to-end, from problem and hypothesis development through analysis to recommendation, while driving cross-functional alignment to ensure smooth implementation by the GTM Teams.

You’ll be highly visible to Placer leadership including the company’s COO, CRO, CFO and CEO.


  • Create and update pricing strategies & rate cards across all our verticals and products that drive maximum ASP, conversion rates/ market penetration, and customer retention
  • Drive alignment on pricing with product, marketing, sales, & finance leaders
  • Build out Placer’s pricing & commercial enablement program and content; create deep and valuable partnerships with the Sales, Customer Success and Sales Enablement teams to deliver pricing content and training to our field sales team, both in group and 1:1 coaching and advisory sessions.
  • Own Pricing KPIs and report periodically, both internally to Pricing/GTM team to drive change and externally to leadership. Slice and dice data to identify pricing gaps
  • Monitor all quotes and agreements in a “pricing desk” capacity. Provide feedback/guidance to sales and raise alerts if issues. Identify patterns to recommend rate card revisions
  • Recommend packaging by vertical & customer segment. What products/features should be bundled together and why?
  • Lead pricing efforts for the Placer Marketplace, creating pricing strategies and rate cards for add-on products to the Placer subscription,working closely with other members of the Marketplace team.
  • Drive discounting decision-making. When, how, and why do we discount?
  • Work with sales and deals desk leaders to proactively identify opportunities where pricing can improve deal velocity, increase market penetration, or improve ASP and profitability
  • Establish playbooks and processes for pricing research, modeling pricing strategies, and proposing and getting approval from our Pricing Committee for new pricing structures
  • Establish a process to evaluate ad-hoc pricing requests for markets where we do not have a standard pricing table and support Sales in a timely manner
  • Consistently partner with Sales Operations to support best-in-class data tracking & reporting


  • 4+ years of professional work experience with 2+ years pricing experience as an in-house pricing strategy manager or as a pricing consultant at a highly regarded B2B SaaS company
  • Demonstrated experience with various pricing models and strategies such as SaaS, credit/token, usage-based, etc and successful track record of driving pricing transformation and execution
  • Exceptional leadership & communication skills and experience navigating and influencing in a team-based, cross-functional, and fully distributed environment
  • Strong research capabilities including qualitative customer interviews and customer value research, and quantitative modeling techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects & priorities, seamlessly moving between strategy & execution
  • Experience with B2B SaaS/data subscription business model(s) is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, in business, economics, accounting or a similar quantitative degree is preferred; MBA a plus.

The U.S. annualized pay range for this position is $125,000-$170,000 USD. In addition, certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales-based commissions. Base pay offered within the stated range may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related skills, professional experience, education and licenses (if applicable), work location and compensation market data.

Base pay is just a part of our total rewards program. Placer provides medical, dental and vision coverage as well as flexible time off, 401K and equity awards for certain roles.
