Estimated salary range:
Base Salary: $175,000
Expected On-target Earnings: $350,000
50% Base – 50% Commission

Position Overview:
The Sales Director – Asia Pacific (will be responsible for driving growth and building relationships across defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure organizations within the Asia Pacific region, including U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), the Australian Defence Force (ADF), and key allied government like Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, New Zealand, India along with others and commercial partners.
This role will focus on delivering Ocient’s hyperscale data and analytics solutions for mission-critical operations, secure data integration, and AI-enabled decision support. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of defense and government technology landscapes in the Indo-Pacific region and a track record of building trusted relationships with senior decision-makers in complex, multinational environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and manage trusted relationships across regional defense and security organization, and allied government agencies like Australia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, India, Philippines, New Zealand and others.

Lead the full sales cycle for Ocient’s hyperscale analytics and secure data warehouse solutions, from opportunity identification through proposal and contract execution.

Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans across the Asia Pacific region, aligned with Ocient’s global growth strategy.

Identify, qualify, and close opportunities through direct engagement, industry partnerships, and teaming with local system integrators and defense contractors.

Collaborate with systems integrators, OEMs, and cloud partners to deliver compliant, secure, and high-performance data solutions for defense, intelligence, and critical mission operations.

Partner with Sales Engineering, Product Management, and Ocient Federal leadership to tailor solutions that address regional mission and data sovereignty requirements.

Drive new business pipeline through direct sales, partner channels, and regional alliances; provide accurate forecasting using MEDDPICC or equivalent methodology.

Navigate international and U.S. government procurement processes, ensuring compliance with export controls, ITAR, and applicable defense trade regulations.

Represent Ocient at regional defense and technology forums, including Indo-Pacific defense expos, AUSA, Avalon, and allied interoperability conferences.

Maintain awareness of regional geopolitical dynamics and defense priorities to shape strategic business development efforts.
Qualifications:

Active U.S. Top Secret clearance or Australian equivalent is required.

10+ years of enterprise or defense technology sales experience within the APAC region focused on defense, intelligence, or federal ecosystem.

Proven record of success selling complex enterprise data, AI/ML, or analytics platforms to government and defense organizations.

Familiarity with defense procurement frameworks and foreign military sales processes.

Experience working across multi-national and joint military environments.

Strong understanding of hyperscale data systems, secure analytics, and mission data management.

Demonstrated ability to manage long and complex sales cycles with diverse stakeholder groups.

Exceptional communication skills, capable of bridging technical solutions with operational mission outcomes.

Background in start-up or high-growth technology environments preferred.
Ideal Experience:

Experience engaging with INDOPACOM, ADF, and allied defense organizations in Australia, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.

Existing relationships within regional defense integrators or contractors supporting U.S. and partner nation defense programs.

Understanding of data sovereignty, cross-domain data transfer, and security compliance within the Asia Pacific context.

Familiarity with ISR, command and control (C2), and geospatial analytics use cases.

Technical fluency in distributed data systems, hyperscale compute, and AI-driven analytics.

Trusted relationships with CTOs, CIOs, and mission leaders in defense and government communities.
