Program Overview
Stats Perform summer internship program is a paid 8 week full-time internship. Interns work together and individually within the organization to gain valuable experience and make an impact in sports technology. Not only will Stats Perform Interns have hands on experience in their field of study but there are awesome perks too! There will be activities, training sessions with other Stats Perform employees, and an end-of-summer presentation.
Department Overview
Stats Perform’s U.S. Data Insights Department creates editorial content and provides research for media clients, including major broadcasters, and for professional leagues and teams as well as college conferences and schools. Our content in support of broadcasts consists primarily around information for live game telecasts and pre-game shows. The research that we provide is often performed in real time, for broadcasters or teams, to react with fast and accurate insights into noteworthy game events as they occur.
Position Overview
Stats Perform’s U.S. Data Insights Department creates editorial content and provides research for media clients, including major broadcasters, and for professional leagues and teams as well as college conferences and schools. Our content in support of broadcasts consists primarily around information for live game telecasts and pre-game shows. The research that we provide is often performed in real time, for broadcasters or teams, to react with fast and accurate insights into noteworthy game events as they occur.
Responsibilities:
- Learn to use our in-house research tools and databases to fulfil client requests.
- Write and research Major League Baseball content to be used on our clients’ telecasts as well as major digital platforms.
- Assist in the development of our social media channels, mainly Twitter(X), to increase engagement and showcase our content.
- Audit videos, screen shots and testimonials to create highlight reels to best market our products and services.
- Help build our Documentation Library.
- Work on other historical data projects as needed or per interest.
- Develop a presentation for company executives about your experience as an intern with U.S. Data Insights.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong Writing Skills (we use AP style).
- Entering your Junior or Senior year in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.
- A passion for professional and college sports would be a plus.
- A broad knowledge of major U.S. sports, especially baseball.
- Enjoy working on research or data projects.
- Good awareness of social media and general marketing content.
- SQL and Tableau skills are preferred but not required.
