If you combine this real-time data with our 40-year-old archives, elite journalists, camera operators, copywriters, the latest in AI wizardry, and a host of 'behind the scenes' support staff, you've got all the ingredients to make it a magical experience!
Our teams of technical experts specialize in harnessing live sporting data, using advanced cloud technologies, Java, JavaScript and Python. It is these tech teams that enable us to extract patterns through AI and Machine Learning and deliver our insights via APIs. In short, they turn complex data into magical experiences with cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities:
- Provision MySQL instances on prem and in the cloud.
- Upgrade and migrate database MySQL between versions and servers.
- Ensure optimal performance, security, and high availability of large sized databases.
- Provide day to day support for MySQL environment.
- Setup and maintain replication and monitoring.
- Script and automate repetitive maintenance tasks.
- Identify and prototype new data solutions to improve performance, reliability.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database technology, administration and architecture.
- Solid experience supporting critical MySQL production systems.
- Knowledge about Amazon Web Services or other public cloud.
- Good knowledge of Linux system.
- Good shell or Python programming skills.
- Good troubleshooting skills and persistence to see issue through to resolution
- Willingness to learn new database and cloud related technologies.
Nice to have:
- Experience with IaC tools like: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins.
- Practical experience with Vitess or other MySQL clustering technology.
- Experience with containers and kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of AWS or Oracle cloud.
- Experience with other database technologies like Oracle/MS SQL/PostgreSQL/Redshift.
