This position provides an exciting opportunity for ambitious candidates that excel in relationship building and business development in both a B2B and B2C context, based out of the Munich office.

More specifically, the Director of Careers and Alumni Engagement for DACH & Benelux will work to engage current students and alumni from IE University based or interested in working in the region. Additionally, the Director will engage with corporate and institutional stakeholders interested in hiring our graduating students and alumni.

We are looking for a person to join a full-time position in Munich.

Responsibilities

Your role as Director of Careers and Alumni Engagement (DACH & Benelux) will involve:

As part of the Global Market team at IE, he/she will act as a key liaison on behalf of Talent & Careers and Global Alumni Relations, in order to enhance alumni satisfaction through tailored services and facilitate opportunities for the alumni to pro-actively get involved as volunteers and advocates of IE to drive school spirit.

The role includes, but is not limited to, meeting and building strong relationships with current students and alumni; sourcing and posting job offers generated from within the network; planning a diverse calendar of dedicated career and alumni activities (off and online) to increase the engagement of the community; and centralizing information from key stakeholders to communicate on an ongoing basis. The director will have to build strong partnerships with recruiting companies and must advise students and alumni in their job search to ensure the placement of IE candidates.

Lastly and equally important, the role includes ensuring the alumni database is up to date, and that IE is generating volunteer opportunities for alumni to support IE initiatives for admissions activities and other stakeholders.

The position, based in IE’s office in Munich, will report to Talent & Careers and Global Alumni Relations, at the functional level and to IE Europe & Central Headquarters in Madrid at the operational level.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Master’s Degree
  • English and German (native or bilingual).
  • EU work permit
  • At least 8 years of relationship management experience focused on individuals and/or corporations. Knowledge of DACH and Benelux markets is a plus.
  • Good understanding of the recruitment market and the talent acquisition process
  • Ability to work collaboratively with several different stakeholders to deliver existing services and co-create new ones.
  • Excellent communicator and networker. Demonstrated poise and professionalism interacting with professionals ranging from junior to executive profiles, and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capability to absorb large volumes of work with tight deadlines, multi-task and navigate an entrepreneurial culture.
  • The role involves travelling throughout DACH & Benelux and to the headquarters in Madrid as required.
