THE ROLE

The Product team is the liaison between Marketing, Business Integration and Support, Partnership Management, Admissions, and the Technology team. The role’s focus is to drive the discovery, definition, and development of new products and features, as well as iterating on existing products. This role will also assist internal stakeholders through product knowledge support, interdepartmental process coordination, and product development.

Working in partnership with the Technology team, the Senior Product Manager will be responsible for coordination of the entire product lifecycle, including: defining business requirements, product design, writing technical specifications, QA, and post launch reporting.

This role must be able to operate independently and proactively to drive product success with little or no supervision. To accomplish this, the person in this role must be able to think critically and clearly to propose creative solutions that meet user needs and the goals of the business.

This role will play a key part in the growth and development of the Product team. The person in this role will provide support to other team members as needed. This position reports to the Vice President of Product Management.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Management
    • Evaluate competing product priorities and guide the product development according to overall business objectives
    • Develop new product requirements through coordination with business units, translating them into detailed specifications for the Technology team
    • Draft specifications and create wireframes for product enhancements and new product releases
    • Provide operational support to business stakeholders by acting as a liaison between internal teams
  • Business Unit Support
    • Coordinate with the Business Analyst team to monitor KPIs and vital business metrics
    • Supervise the development and operation of data integration processes and tools
    • Help troubleshoot and identify points of failure across systems when issues arise
    • In collaboration with internal teams work to optimize outcomes against goals and KPIs set by the business unit.
    • Use test results, past trends, qualitative data, and heuristic analysis to articulate conversion optimization strategy for a variety of publisher widgets, landing pages, microsites, and marketing creatives
    • Coordinate and execute A/B testing of product flows, increasing user engagement and revenue while balancing quality and marketing compliance requirements

THE REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Superb organization skills with the ability to effectively prioritize outstanding tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience with requirements gathering, user testing and interviews
  • Experience creating detailed product requirements for a technical audience
  • Experience guiding the product development cycle from ideation to post-deployment iteration
  • Strong familiarity with core technologies such as Web Applications, APIs, Databases, reporting, etc.
  • Bias for proactive initiative, action, and ability to get things done
  • 3+ years of experience in product management
  • Experience managing feature/functionality for a consumer or business facing products, while working closely with engineering in an agile like development environment
  • BS in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced in Photoshop, Sketch, Figma, or other design / prototyping applications a plus
  • Experience in Jira a plus
  • Experience in Education Marketing, Recruitment, or Technology products a plus
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics/Tag Manager or other Analytics tools a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This is a fully remote position
  • No travel is required, but optional travel is encouraged from time to time for team building and in person strategy/planning sessions
