THE ROLE
The Product team is the liaison between Marketing, Account Management, Business Analytics, Admissions, etc. and the Technology team. The role’s focus is to drive the discovery, definition, and development of new products and features, as well as iterating on existing products. This role will also assist internal stakeholders through product knowledge support, interdepartmental process coordination, and product development.
Working in partnership with the Technology team, the Product Manager will be responsible for coordination of the entire product lifecycle, including: defining business requirements, product design, writing technical specifications, QA, and post launch reporting.
This role will play a key part in the growth and development of Archer’s products and services. This position reports to the Vice President of Product Management.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Management
- Evaluate competing product priorities to help arrange projects in the technology queue according to overall business objectives
- Develop new product requirements through coordination with business units, translating them into detailed specifications for the Technology team
- Work with development teams to create, refine, and deliver products and features
- Draft specifications and create wireframes for product enhancements or new product development
- Conduct user testing through interviews and tool-based research
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to understand user behavior and propose product improvements
- Maintain product documentation, updating internal resources as necessary with new developments or to improve clarity for team members
- Provide operational support to business stakeholders by acting as a liaison between internal teams
Data Analytics
- Coordinate with the various functional business groups (Business Analytics, Admissions, Marketing, etc.) to monitor KPIs across various products and services
- Help identify opportunities for improvement / troubleshoot issues that are identified through data analysis
- Support A/B testing efforts in coordination with CRO, UX, and Design team members
THE REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
- 2+ years of experience in product management or substantially similar field
- Experience managing feature/functionality for consumer facing products, while working closely with engineering in an agile like development environment
- BS in a technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics preferred
- History of balancing strategic priorities across multiple teams and stakeholders keeping projects moving forward with a prejudice towards strategic growth opportunities
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, APIs, etc. Google Analytics/Tag Manager experience a plus
- Superb organization skills with the ability to effectively prioritize outstanding tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
- Bias for action and ability to get things done
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in performance-based marketing or agency marketing services is a plus
- Experience in Lucid chart, Photoshop, Sketch, or other wireframe and design-oriented applications is a plus
- Experience in website development is a plus
- Experience with Jira is a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a fully remote position
- No travel is required, but optional travel is encouraged from time to time for team building and in person strategy/planning sessions
