About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Tax Director to help guide and grow our global tax function, with a strong emphasis on international tax, statutory reporting, and indirect tax (VAT/GST). This role will work closely with the VP of Tax and the broader tax team to manage the company's non-U.S. tax footprint — including cross-border structuring, foreign statutory filings, and VAT compliance — while building scalable processes and managing risk across jurisdictions. This is a great opportunity for a collaborative tax leader with deep international expertise who enjoys partnering across teams on both the strategic and operational sides of a growing global tax function.What You'll Do Partner with the VP of Tax to shape and execute the company's international tax strategy, including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, GILTI/Subpart F, cross-border structuring, and repatriation planningWork closely with local country controllers, auditors, and advisors on statutory financial statement reporting for foreign entities, helping ensure accurate and timely local GAAP/IFRS statutory filingsHelp manage global indirect tax compliance, including VAT/GST registrations, filings, and audits across international jurisdictionsCollaborate with the VP of Tax and cross-functional partners to develop and execute international tax planning strategies that support global expansion, minimize risk, and optimize the company's overall effective tax rateContribute to the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740) with a focus on foreign entities, including reserves (FIN 48/ASC 450) and coordination with external auditorsHelp monitor changes in international and indirect tax law (e.g., BEPS Pillar Two, EU VAT reforms) and share the potential impact on the organization with leadershipWork with the team to improve tax technology and automation, including systems such as NetSuite and Avalara, to streamline global compliance and reporting workflowsSupport tax audits and inquiries from foreign and domestic tax authoritiesSupport M&A due diligence, cross-border structuring, and post-acquisition integration from a tax perspective as neededMentor and collaborate with tax team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvementCollaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and FP&A on international tax and statutory matters affecting financial reporting and business decisionsHelp maintain internal controls related to global tax processes What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's in Taxation, CPA, JD, or LLM a plus10+ years of progressive tax experience, with substantial depth in international tax and global indirect tax (VAT/GST)Hands-on experience managing statutory financial reporting for foreign subsidiaries and coordinating with local-country auditors and advisorsStrong technical knowledge of cross-border tax structuring, transfer pricing, and VAT/GST compliance across multiple jurisdictionsWorking knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax concepts sufficient to oversee domestic compliance handled by advisors or team membersHands-on experience with NetSuite and Avalara strongly preferredExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex international tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders across regionsStrong project management skills and comfort operating in a remote, global, fast-paced environment Nice to Have Experience with partnership taxation, including allocations, Schedule K-1s, and partnership agreementsExperience with BEPS Pillar Two implementation and global minimum tax complianceExperience in a private equity-backed, SaaS, or high-growth multinational environmentPrior experience managing or building out an international tax function from the ground up Why Join LevelBlue?At LevelBlue, you’re not just an employee—you’re part of a team making a real difference in the world of cybersecurity.
