This is a fully remote, full-time position reporting directly to the VP of Tax. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the company's federal, state, and local tax compliance, supporting tax provision and reporting processes, and helping to build scalable tax processes as the organization grows. Experience with domestic and partnership taxation is a plus, and familiarity with NetSuite and Avalara is highly valued.What You'll Do Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns, in partnership with external advisorsOversee non-income tax compliance, including sales/use, gross receipts, and property tax filingsSupport the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740), including effective tax rate analysis and uncertain tax position documentation (FIN48/ASC 450)Assist with partnership tax matters, including K-1 preparation/review, allocations, and composite state filingsManage and maintain tax configurations and taxability settings within NetSuite and AvalaraReconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate tax accruals within the general ledgerResearch and analyze the tax implications of business transactions, new products, and state nexus issuesSupport international tax compliance matters, including assisting with foreign filings, transfer pricing documentation, and cross-border reporting requirements (e.g., Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, as applicable)Assist the broader tax team with international tax planning, entity structuring, and foreign tax provision mattersRespond to and manage federal and state tax notices and auditsIdentify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and automationPartner cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, and Legal on tax-related mattersAssist the VP of Tax with tax planning initiatives and special projectsMentor and provide guidance to junior tax team members, as applicable What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's in Taxation, CPA, JD, or LLM a plus8+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally including a mix of public accounting and industry/in-house experienceStrong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax compliance and provision (ASC 740)Experience with domestic tax matters and partnership taxation (K-1s, allocations, composite returns) is a plusWorking knowledge of international tax concepts (e.g., GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing) and ability to assist with international tax compliance mattersHands-on experience with NetSuite and Avalara strongly preferredAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large volumes of dataStrong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts to non-tax stakeholdersSelf-motivated and comfortable operating in a fully remote environment Nice to Have Prior exposure to international tax compliance or provision work (e.g., foreign entity filings, transfer pricing, cross-border transactions)Experience with tax technology/automation toolsExperience in a private equity-backed, SaaS, or high-growth multinational environmentExperience managing or mentoring junior staff Why Join LevelBlue?At LevelBlue, you’re not just an employee—you’re part of a team making a real difference in the world of cybersecurity.
