This Senior Cloud Engineer role is a hands-on individual contributor focused on infrastructure automation, reliability, and secure deployment practices. The role partners closely with Development, QA, and Operations to standardize how services are built, tested, and released. Responsibilities: Implement and promote best practices in cloud-native architecture and deployment, administering through automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.Help evolve development guidelines, practices, and principles for a world where service development and delivery are moving faster than ever.Design, build, and maintain immutable infrastructure workflows using Terraform, Packer, and Puppet and other ci/cd tools across AWS environments.Implement, improve, and support DevOps tools for software configuration management, build, deploy, continuous integration, automated testing, and automated self-service release management.Manage, maintain, and improve automated code deployment practices.Administer and maintain version control software and code repository.Define, manage, and respond to data-driven metrics for continuous improvement.Work closely with the development team to develop best practices and processes around coding, code management, code quality, code architecture, and code branching strategies.Work closely with Operations, QA, and Development teams to define and maintain requirements and procedural documentation for production platforms and services.Evaluate emerging build/deploy technologies and tools including cloud-based development. Technical Qualifications:The ideal candidate has 4+ years of hands-on experience of applicable products and tools and can demonstrate working knowledge of the following areas: Deep hands-on experience operating AWS-native services at scale, including compute, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, and container platforms (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ELB/ALB, CloudWatch, EKS and/or ECS). Working knowledge of additional public cloud platforms is a plus.Production experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, including modules, state management, environment promotion, and code review practices.Experience building and maintaining machine images with Packer for repeatable, secure baseline builds.Hands-on Puppet experience in Linux environments, including catalog management, roles/profiles or equivalent patterns, and idempotent resource management.Installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of Ubuntu and other enterprise Linux distributions at scale in production.Automation through scripting languages such as Bash and/or Python for operational tasks beyond configuration management and infrastructure as code tools.Experience with Git repositories such as GitHub and Git-based continuous integration/delivery processes and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).Docker container-based infrastructure technologies and tools such as service discovery (etcd, Consul), service meshes (Istio, Envoy, etc.), and schedulers (Kubernetes, ECS, etc.).Highly available and secure systems/environments, including least-privilege access, secrets handling, and secure deployment patterns. Additional desirable experience and skills in the following areas: Big data technologies (Elasticsearch, Kafka, etc.).Networking concepts (routes, subnets, ports, firewalls, security groups/NACLs, etc.) and tools.Security concepts and tools.Performance monitoring and log management systems (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch stack, etc.).Ansible or CloudFormation experience alongside the primary infrastructure toolchain.Azure or other public cloud platforms as secondary exposure.Migration and modernization of legacy deployment patterns. General skills: A passion for uptime, security, and operational excellence.Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.Forward thinking and keeping up with current paradigms and technologies.Ability to work with development teams and synthesize infrastructure requirements from application needs.Ability to successfully balance multiple simultaneous demands and self-adjust to meet shifting priorities.Excellent English oral and written communication skills.Willingness to occasionally work scheduled night/weekend times, and to participate in off-hours on-call schedule.Familiarity with the security industry is desirable but not required. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college or university degree is a plus. This role is open to candidates legally authorized to work in the Philippines.
