About the Role
We're looking for a Sales Engineer to lead the POC process for our data, cloud, and AI solutions for marketers. You will analyse customer needs, prepare data, and deliver impactful reporting that validates value and successfully moves the sales process to close. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales and is based in San Francisco (Onsite).
What You'll Do
Design and execute POCs that demonstrate Alembic's value, progressing deals to close
Analyse customer needs and requirements for tailored solutions
Prepare and process customer data to build accurate POC reporting
Deliver compelling presentations of POC results to customer stakeholders
Collaborate with Enterprise AEs and Product to align solutions with objectives
Contribute to scalable POC processes and best practices
What Will Help You Succeed
3-5 years in Sales Engineering or similar pre-sales technical roles in B2B SaaS, data, cloud, or AI
Proven track record leading successful POCs that closed deals
Strong data analysis skills, with ability to prepare and process data
Proficiency in Python and/or other scripting languages for data preparation and quality-testing
Experience with data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or AI solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving mindset
Collaborative and proactive approach
Ability to travel as needed (~20%)
Experience delivering POCs for data, cloud, or AI in marketing contexts
Background as a data analyst or business analyst
Familiarity with enterprise procurement and security review processes
Startup or high-growth environment experience
Formal technical certifications such as AWS or GCP
Ability to create scalable POC templates and reusable scripts
Experience working with marketing customers
Previous startup or founder experience
Advanced technical training or certifications in AI/ML
Experience contributing to product feedback loops
Exposure to value engineering or ROI modelling
